Our school boasts of a dynamic and well-trained school choir that performs a repertoire of at least 15 hymns and anthems, with new pieces constantly added. Comprised of talented students aged 6 to 14, the choir has become a prominent feature of our school’s cultural life. Through regular rehearsals and performances, our young musicians develop their vocal skills, learn about music theory, and foster a love for choral music.
Modern Music:
Our school offers piano lessons for interested students, providing opportunities for those with a passion for music to develop their piano skills. Students who enroll in the piano program attend at least two practical lessons per week, receiving personalized instruction from experienced piano teachers. Through these lessons, students learn piano techniques, music theory, and explore a variety of musical genres.
Tradition and Culture:
HIS maintains a vibrant cultural troupe that showcases the rich cultural heritage of our region. Students are trained in traditional dances, including kinka, agbadza, and borborbor, and learn to play traditional instruments. Through the cultural troupe, students gain a deep appreciation for their cultural roots, develop a sense of identity, and contribute to the preservation of local traditions.
Cultural Exchange:
HIS actively engages in cultural exchange programs, welcoming annual visits from members of the diaspora. During these visits, our students proudly showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ewe, performing traditional dances, music, and sharing stories about their customs and traditions. These exchanges foster cross-cultural understanding, strengthen connections with the diaspora, and promote the preservation of Ewe culture.
